Imagine that one day it is announced to Christians the world over: ‘From now on there will be no more places of worship, no ceremonies, no clergy, no statues or holy images, nothing material or external. You are going to worship God in spirit and in truth as Jesus prophesied.’ Since most humans need to cling to things that are tangible and concrete, this would create a void for them, and they would feel lost. Only exceptionally evolved beings can find a sanctuary in their soul and spirit where they can go to speak to the Lord, to touch, taste and breathe the splendours of heaven. Obviously, such an expansion of consciousness is to be desired. Those who attain it no longer experience limitations, for the world of the soul and spirit is inexhaustibly rich. Their capacity to work building their future as sons and daughters of God becomes boundless.
