Work, and do not concern yourself with whether or not …

Work, and do not concern yourself with whether or not others realise what you are doing. The laws are absolutely true: if you do your work honestly, one day everyone will be obliged to recognise it. Imagine a gardener who has just planted an extraordinary and unique seed in the earth. If he is so stupid and vain that he wants everyone to know it, and he digs up the seed to show every visitor, saying: 'Do you see this? I planted it; take a good look, because it will become an exceptional tree with delicious fruits, and soon we will be eating them...' Treated in such a way this poor seed will not last long! Now this is what many spiritualists tend to do: they uproot what they have only just sown, so that others may know what a beautiful tree they are growing. But they have killed it themselves! You must not remove the seed from the earth; wait until, on its own, the tree becomes visible to others.
