When we are at the foot of a mountain, our horizon is …
When we are at the foot of a mountain, our horizon is limited, but when we climb to the top, we can see a great distance and discover an enormous expanse of land around us. Mountains with their bases and summits exist also in us, symbolically. The base is represented by our mind and heart, always busy with schemes which limit and cloud our vision and mislead us. Even if these schemes seem to succeed for a time, it is unlikely that, in the long run, the results will correspond to our aspirations. The summit is the spirit which can see everything exactly as it is and at a great distance, the spirit which guides us and reinforces our convictions. The spirit tells us what is going to happen - and it is always right. In the clear light of the summit, there is no place for uncertainty and errors.
