Daily Meditation: Friday, August 1, 1997

God has given us everything: water, air, heat, light, and …

God has given us everything: water, air, heat, light, and in the subtle world He has also given out prana and many other beneficial energies. So why do so many people feel poor and miserable? Because they are not able to attract and absorb these subtle elements. And anyway, how could they? They do not see them, they do not feel them, so how could they benefit from them? The only thing they are capable of doing is complaining about what is missing in their lives. They have everything at their disposal but they remain stuck in poverty because they are blind, weak, and lazy. Yes, indeed, human beings impose their own limitations on themselves: they content themselves with eating, drinking, and breathing, in other words nourishing themselves with solid, liquid, and gaseous elements, and they neglect the fourth element – fire, light – the element they need most to maintain life, joy, and inspiration within themselves, the element that will bring them fulfilment. You will say: ‘But how can we nourish ourselves with this fourth element; where do we find it?' By watching the sunrise each morning. This is where you will learn to eat fire and drink light.
