Nature has placed signs everywhere to instruct disciples …

Nature has placed signs everywhere to instruct disciples and help them understand the transformations they are to carry out in themselves. Until then, they are like heavy, ugly caterpillars which eat the foliage of trees and do all sorts of damage. They must decide to retreat within themselves and meditate on the necessity of giving up certain inferior tendencies. In doing so they activate new forces, and after a while, like the caterpillar, they emerge as butterflies, light and free. They no longer destroy leaves but instead nourish themselves exclusively on the nectar of flowers. The butterfly symbolizes the soul which has been freed of all limitation, and this is the true meaning of resurrection. The physical body does not resuscitate. The resurrection is the reawakening of something which has fallen asleep in man and which one day, after a long work of maturation, awakens to the light.
