To know something is to taste it. When the first humans still lived in the bosom of the Eternal and in constant communion with it, nothing was hidden from them. The divine life in which they were immersed was their sole and perfect source of knowledge. If you want to regain something of this primordial knowledge, you must commune with the universe, with the ocean of cosmic light. Until you succeed in reaching this higher state of consciousness, which is called communion or fusion, you cannot taste reality; you cannot know it. You make suppositions, you have a few glimmers of light, thanks to which you move somewhat closer, but this is never exactly it. ‘So,’ you will say, ‘the explanations you give us are not much use then?’ They serve to stimulate your curiosity, to inspire in you the desire to make certain efforts, to have certain experiences, so that at last you will live in this state of communion, which will bring you true knowledge.
