Many of you are aware of the impact your thoughts and feelings have on the proper functioning of your organism. But you are mostly aware of this when you have negative thoughts and feelings – anger, fear, discontentment, jealousy – or emotions caused by bad news. It interferes with your glandular secretions and you have the feeling that you are being poisoned. So you all know from experience that negative emotions are harmful to your health. But how many of you really do something about avoiding them? How many of you work at controlling yourselves, and in particular at cultivating feelings and emotions which make you happy, allow you to flourish, and expand? It is nevertheless quite easy to understand: just as we are weakened by negative thoughts and feelings, we become strong, free, and alive when we work with positive states of mind.
