On the pretext that they must be realistic, human beings …

On the pretext that they must be realistic, human beings have a tendency to turn away from the world of beauty and poetic imagination. And today even artists have succumbed to this tendency: painters, poets, moviemakers, and playwrights present the most mundane reality in their works, and not only mundane, but gross and repugnant... as if we were not familiar enough with this reality! In order for human beings to blossom, it is far better that they have access to the world of the supernatural, the world of poetry, and that they try to live in this world as much as possible. You will say: 'But it is an unreal world!' Well, in fact, it is this unreal world which is the absolute reality. It is here at last that we experience ourselves living in purity and light. True reality must be sought on high in the realm of the soul and the spirit.
