You will discover the secret of love when you stop …
You will discover the secret of love when you stop confusing it with pleasure. You will say that love is very boring and insipid without pleasure. Not at all, because pleasure involves only the physical plane. Beyond pleasure there is the joy, the inspiration, the wonder, the ecstasy of the soul and spirit. When a man and woman are able to give each other a divine feeling without letting themselves be carried away by passion, then this communion, this tenderness between them becomes extraordinarily expressive, rich, intense, and beautiful. Of course it is a pleasure, but a higher pleasure, a divine pleasure, which makes them immortal. Otherwise love becomes a captor. To those who seek pleasure, love is like a brute force taking hold of them and holding them so tightly they cannot escape. They become enslaved by it. Unfortunately this is how most people understand love: a torturing, burning love which consumes them and leaves them without strength. Because they have confused love with pleasure.
