Mistrust imprisons people in their faults and limitations, …

Mistrust imprisons people in their faults and limitations, whereas trust can set them free. When someone behaves badly, even if he has committed crimes, why treat him as though he were bound to keep repeating them forever? His actions belong to the past, and the past should not be confused with eternity. He has done wrong, it is true, but his misdeeds took place in a moment in history. Since then, he may have improved and changed his behaviour. We must not focus on a past event, but must look to the present and even the future. This is the way of sages and initiates, who have a much broader understanding of existence. They know that evolution is the law of life, and this is why they never condemn people forever, because God continues working on them and within them.
