So many circumstances prevent people from making a fair assessment of things and situations! They think they are objective and impartial, but in reality they are under the influence of their conditions: their heredity, education and social position, the company they keep and their physical and psychic state. If you are hungry or have had a sleepless night, you find everything irritating. If you are promoted at work, life is beautiful, but if you have had an argument with your husband or wife, the whole world seems deplorable. You have proof that a man is immoral and you judge him severely, but if he gives you a magnificent present, won’t your opinion of him change? It is normal for your judgement to be swayed by circumstances, but you must be conscious of this influence and think twice before giving in to it. Otherwise, if you are at the mercy of such personal conditions and points of view, how will you be able to assess things fairly?
