Wherever you go, you see people just criticizing, …
Wherever you go, you see people just criticizing, complaining, telling everyone they’re discouraged and unhappy because of this and that… because of nothing at all! The fact they’re in this state proves they have understood nothing of life’s realities. ‘What?’ some will reply. ‘We’ve understood nothing? But we have qualifications, we’ve read philosophers and thinkers!’ That’s true, but your attitude shows you’ve understood nothing. The fact you have qualifications and have read entire libraries is certainly proof you are well read and erudite but not that you’ve understood anything about life. If you could give evidence of your understanding, that would be real proof: evidence such as serenity, self-control, tolerance towards others and the ability to solve problems. If you can give this proof, even if you have no qualifications, even if you have read nothing, you possess the science of life. There, it’s clear.
