Initiates and sages cannot do everything, and they are well aware of it. This is why they are only interested in teaching people who on the evolutionary scale correspond symbolically to plants, animals and humans. A spiritual master can do nothing with those who have remained stones. It is pointless, because he must endlessly push them and motivate them to move forward.
