People have new encounters and form new relationships every day, but what are these relationships built on? When they meet each other in this way, do they concern themselves with finding out whether the affinity between them also encompasses their views and opinions? No, they feel an immediate affinity for each other and they feel that the fact there is a 'chemistry' between them is enough. Of course there is nothing wrong with 'chemistry', but chemistry alone is not sufficient, because as time goes by there will be situations where it is important to have similar views. But no, they disagree with each other, they clash more and more, and soon there is nothing left of this 'chemistry'. Soon affinity even turns to hatred, because this is always the result, be it in love or in friendship, when intellectual affinity, mutual intellectual understanding and agreement, is overlooked.
