Love - without realizing it, we are immersed in it
We must learn to be constantly connected to the Source, to slake our thirst with the water of love that fills the universe and in which we are immersed. We are often like a man standing up to his neck in water who cries out, ‘I’m thirsty! Give me water!’ He only has to open his mouth and drink, but he keeps it shut tight and dies of thirst.* Although this love surrounds us and washes over us, everyone continues to look for it, continues to sigh and moan for it. ‘In him we live and move and have our being’, says St Paul. Without realizing it, we are immersed in love just as fish are immersed in the waters of the ocean. We need only to create a few small openings in ourselves to be immediately flooded with this extraordinary force of love.
