For centuries women have silently endured the domination of …

For centuries women have silently endured the domination of men. But now conditions have changed. Men have become weak, and have failed to keep hold of some of their most important roles, while women have equipped themselves and have seized those same functions for themselves. More and more, women are revealing their capabilities, manifesting qualities of leadership, intelligence and courage. Why then should they be held down in a subordinate position? If men do not reconsider, if they do not change their attitudes, women will teach them some hard lessons. But if in their turn women abuse the situation, if they commit the same kind of mistakes as men, they may succeed for a while – voicing their opinions on everything, involved in everything, organizing everything – but they too will end by losing the advantages they have gained. There will be other upheavals as men wake up, react, and seize power again. And the whole nonsense will begin again... and when will there be an end to all this? Not until both men and women learn wisdom. Then, truly, will they recognize each other as equals: which is to say, they will not be equal in areas particular to one or the other sex, but equal because each of their own respective roles is just as important as the other.
