Every year at the beginning of spring, the sun and the earth celebrate a union. The sun fertilizes mother earth, which receives its rays and uses them to produce an abundance of fruits. Through their meditation on the sun’s work on the earth, initiates have understood that this process of fertilization occurs everywhere in the universe, even in our inner life. In human beings, the spirit represents the sun, and the soul represents the earth. In the spring, just as the earth opens to the rays of the sun, our soul must open to the rays of the divine Spirit in order to be fertilized.
