Whatever inadequacies we may appear to have, in reality we …

Whatever inadequacies we may appear to have, in reality we possess everything we need to draw closer every day to a state of holiness, that state of purity and light which is an attribute of God himself, according to the book of Revelations, where the Seraphim that stand before the throne repeat without ceasing, ‘Holy, holy, holy, the Lord God the Almighty.’ But God has equipped us so thoroughly that he has even given us elements that resist holiness. We must work to transform these elements, for that is how we will attain true holiness. Holiness is a state that is reached in full consciousness. What advantage would there be in walking along the path of goodness like a robot, without knowing either why or how we were progressing? Before we can appreciate the light, we must have overcome darkness, for our knowledge of light is enriched by our knowledge of darkness.
