You have discovered a truth, a divine idea. Think of it as …

You have discovered a truth, a divine idea. Think of it as a seed you can place in the earth. Once it’s been sown in your earth, in other words, in your heart and soul, watch it grow: you will begin to sense how life is born and how it develops within yourself and within the entire universe. Why, for many believers, has religion become a practice devoid of meaning? Because they don’t know how to work with the truths it contains. And there is only one way of working with these truths: to sow them, as you would sow seeds; yes, sow them in your inner earth, and take care of them each day, water them, keep them warm, remove the surrounding weeds that threaten to choke them, and also get rid of the insects that are ready to nibble at them. What does that mean? It means, if we want the truths we’ve planted in our spiritual soil to grow within us, we must give them what they need to flourish, but also prevent any lower thoughts and feelings from coming, like parasites, to attack them. I, myself, have sown many of those seeds Jesus left us in the Gospels; I water them, I watch over them, and they grow.
