On the twenty-second of September, the sun enters the sign of Libra and ushers in a new season. Fruits fall from the trees, and grain is sorted, either to be eaten or saved and sown later on for a new cycle. But this work of separation and sorting which takes place in nature concerns not only vegetation but also human beings and their destiny. Just as fruit separates from the tree and the nut or seed from the fruit, so the soul one day separates from the body. The body is the envelope of the soul, and the soul is the seed which is planted on high in the heavens. When a human being has ripened spiritually, he does not fall to earth like the seed of a plant but flies heavenward.
