Every religion has one day specially set aside for worship. This is fine, but what difference does it make in God’s eyes whether it is Friday, Saturday, Sunday or any other day? None. For him, all days are equally sacred and blessed, and they should be so for us as well. What sense does it make to forget the Lord for six days while you spend your time in material, prosaic activities, and then on the seventh day finally turn your attention to him by worshipping him for an hour or two in a building dedicated to this purpose? What state will you be in when you come before him if you have lived six days in unconsciousness and triviality? Do you think he appreciates such hypocrisy? What good will such an attitude do you? You must not delude yourself; how you live the seventh day depends on how you have lived the other six. It is on a daily basis that you must strive to come closer to God.
