So many of the processes we observe in nature are capable …

So many of the processes we observe in nature are capable of teaching us! Take the development of a marrow in the garden, for example. Yes, even there there’s something for us to learn. At first, the marrow hangs from a tiny little stem that can easily be broken. But as the marrow gradually gets bigger, the little stem becomes stronger, to the point where it manages one day to support several kilos in weight. The same phenomenon occurs with the disciple of an initiatic school. ‘What’, you’ll say, ‘are you comparing us with marrows?’ Don’t be annoyed, it’s only an image; try to understand. As you gradually manage to capture the currents and vibrations of the spiritual world, which are extremely powerful, there is something at work within you which will allow you to resist this tension. But that can only happen progressively. Those people who want to learn and experience everything all at once and develop all their spiritual faculties immediately, expose themselves to great dangers, madness or even death. You must set about it gently, patiently and steadily, for then your nervous system becomes stronger and capable of resisting the greatest psychic tensions.
