Love can be compared to a tree, and sexuality to its roots. …

Love can be compared to a tree, and sexuality to its roots. Set deep in the human being, these roots cannot be torn out, and we must never attempt to do so. They are indispensable to us, just as the roots are indispensable to the tree. Only we must go further, higher, into the trunk, the branches and all the way to the flowers and fruits, for the flowers and fruits are the highest expression of love, which is sacrifice. The most spiritual love receives its élan from the sexual force, but you must learn to cultivate this force, to water it and protect it from insects and storms. When you taste the fruits of this tree of love, you will recognize them as the fruits of immortality, of eternal life.
