If you have lost love then all you want to do is let …

If you have lost love then all you want to do is let yourself die, because life has lost its meaning. Life and love are closely connected and those who love seek eternity. So, protect the love you carry within you and you will always want to live, because of this love. Many men and women allow the source of love within them to run dry because they have met with some disappointments, as if all this wealth they carry in their heart and in their soul merely depend on a few unhappy experiences they may have encountered. And then they wonder why they have lost their taste for life. Well, it is because they no longer have love. When you see a young woman who is animated, happy, singing, you know immediately that she has just seen her lover. And then when you see her sad and discouraged, it is because she has lost her love. It is quite easy to work this out. This is why we must always insist on carrying love within us. Not that love, however, which is increasingly ubiquitous today and is really nothing more than debauchery, because, like the lack of love, that kind of love too can take away people's reason for living. The love I am talking of is this inexhaustible source which has its origin in God, which nourishes all creation and all creatures, and which we must endeavour to seek out if we are to live fulfilled lives.
