Adolescents by nature believe they can discount the authority and influence of adults and rely only on themselves and their experiments to find ‘their truth’. This is perfectly normal and acceptable; they must find their own way. But when they speak of their own experiments, we find that most often the word ‘experiment’ implies risky adventures: licentiousness, cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, excesses of all sorts and even delinquency. From now on they should tell themselves that ‘experimenting’ can also mean striving to walk the path of light and divine virtues. It is there more than anywhere else that wonderful adventures await them.
