Present - limits of our power over it
Because our present is the result of our past, we have almost no power over it. What we are living at the moment is only the consequence, the logical outcome of this past. Not only our actions, but also our thoughts, sentiments and desires from prior incarnations have activated forces and powers of the same nature in the universe, and these have determined our qualities, our weaknesses, as well as our actions in our present life. Over the course of this incarnation it is almost impossible to change what has been determined by our past life. The only thing we can do is prepare the future. This is what the initiates teach the disciples who come to study in their schools: how to prepare the future.
