Nudity - expresses either spiritual poverty or spiritual wealt

What does it mean to say that somebody is naked? One of two things: either that they are poor, deprived, without qualities or virtues; or that having stripped away the shell that prevented light and truth from entering, they are innocent, free and perfect. In this sense, only those who are truly divine are naked; such beings are also said to be enveloped or clothed in light. It is very difficult to find words that convey an exact notion of the realities of the spiritual life. We are often obliged to have recourse to analogies, and that of nudity serves to express both spiritual poverty and spiritual wealth.*
