Lower nature - sacrifice it to become alive

Signs in people’s faces reveal how endlessly immersed they are in disorder, turmoil and suffering. Why is this? Because the concepts they cling to are too limited, and as a result their lives are nothing but pettiness, discord and vexation inspired by their inferior nature. It is this inferior nature that is at the root of all the torment inscribed on their faces, but instead of muzzling it, they allow it to express itself, they listen to it, and they obey its suggestions. When will they understand that it brings death to them, and that in order to be alive they must sacrifice it? To sacrifice one’s lower nature is exactly like feeding wood to a fire. Yes, each time you refuse to be influenced by your lower nature – which endlessly incites you to confrontations, anger, rebellion and revenge – you feed the fire of the spirit within you, and you become more alive. Eventually this life even appears in your face as a light.
