Hurts - a method to no longer be affected by them
There are many occasions in life when you might feel despised, mistreated or rejected. Of course, it is painful, but why dwell on it and spend long hours fretting? Stop feeling sorry for yourself and start reflecting a little. Say to yourself, ‘There are people who have given me a hard time , but many others love me and appreciate me. I have a family and friends.’ Even supposing you didn’t have a family or friends, know that the Lord loves you, that the angels love you. So, while thinking about the heavenly beings, about the Lord who created so many marvellous and beautiful things from which you benefit each moment of your life, you will eventually forget the harm done to you, until one day you won’t even feel it. You should see all the hurtful words and attitudes of others as opportunities to work on yourself. You cannot prevent them from saying or doing things that upset you, but you have the means to protect yourself.
