Discouragement - a winter, after which spring returns

Whatever we want to do in life, even if our plans are excellent ones, we always meet with difficulties and obstacles. It is important to know this and to take precautions so that we never allow ourselves to become discouraged, as this is one of the worst temptations there are. When you begin to feel overwhelmed and out of your depth, tell yourself immediately that this state will not last. Take refuge within yourself, as if you were going into hibernation, and remain there until the breath of life comes back to visit you. Discouragement is like winter, but after winter spring arrives – sometimes earlier than others and sometimes much later, but it always arrives in the end. This is why we should never completely lose hope and courage. Some time or other, your enthusiasm and energy will return. How many people have let go of life barely a few moments before the forces of spring would have re-emerged in them! It’s a shame; finally they were about to be saved, but they allowed discouragement to overwhelm them, because they did not sense that spring was on its way again.
