Spirit (our) - we must seek to improve our faculties of perception and receptivity
As the human spirit manifests itself imperfectly through the medium of the physical body, people think that it is the spirit that is imperfect, and that it needs to be purified, developed and strengthened. No, the spirit is an eternal principle, a spark of the Deity, and it does not need to learn or to be improved in any way. The only thing it needs are suitable conditions in which to manifest itself. There are cases where certain people, particularly artists and philosophers, attain such extraordinary states of inspiration that they are actually in contact with sublime realities, but when they return to their normal state they understand very little of what they have experienced. Sometimes, in fact, they remember nothing. If human beings enhanced their faculties of perception and receptivity and provided the right conditions for the spirit to manifest its presence more fully, it would allow them to accomplish marvels through the medium of their physical bodies.
