Spiritual work - for the coming of the Kingdom of God

Many Christians wonder, ‘With all the work Christianity has done for the Kingdom of God over the last two thousand years, why is it still so far off? Why are there still so many wars, still so much famine, poverty and misery in the world?’ Well, precisely because human beings do not know how to work for the Kingdom of God. They spend their time talking and writing about this fault and that failing, the lack of organization, the incompetence of those in charge, misspent money, and so on. They always count on material solutions, and their attempts to apply them lead to endless conflicts. How can the Kingdom of God possibly be brought about in such conditions? It is now time to change the way we think and behave. Those who sincerely wish to work for the coming of the Kingdom of God must realize that this cannot be done with human methods, the methods of matter. It requires divine methods, the methods of the spirit. And these methods consist in nurturing the best aspirations and feelings within ourselves, and in speaking only constructive words. For such feelings, aspirations and words activate the luminous powers of the invisible world, which will come to help us in our work.
